We reached out to you recently to inform you about our upcoming core conversion. The actual date of our system upgrade is November 5, 2018, so we wanted to get back in touch with you with additional details about the upcoming changes.
We are updating and upgrading our core banking computer systems to make banking easier and more convenient for you. This upgrade will also make all your accounts and information even more secure, which is a top priority for us.
The upgrade will require you to take some simple, one-time steps in order to make your telephone, online, and mobile banking services compatible with the new system. We never want to ask you to do anything that makes banking more complicated, but again, the sole purpose of this update is to provide easier and more secure banking for you, so we’re confident you’ll find these one-time, minor inconveniences well worth it.
Making this upgrade as smooth as possible for you is very important to everyone at United Bank, so please do not
hesitate to reach out to us at any point by calling 800-423-7026, emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or
contacting your local United Bank office. We’re here and happy to help in any way.
Will my current Online Banking system be available after November 2?
It will be available through the weekend with inquiry or view options only. You will not be able to make any payments, transfer funds or schedule any bill payments until Monday, November 5.
Will there be any disruption to my banking services during the weekend of November 2-5?
It is possible that we will have short periods of disruption as we make the final switch. We will keep up to the minute information posted on our website to help keep you informed of any disruptions.
Will there be any disruption to my United Bank Credit Card?
There will be no disruption to your United Bank credit card during the upgrade. However, after the upgrade we will be better able to service your credit card account.
Will there be any disruption to my United Bank Debit Card?
All cardholders will revert to our standard daily ATM and Debit Card transaction limits. Those limits are usually sufficient on most weekends. If you anticipate a purchase that is larger than normal you may want to make advance arrangements.
Will my account numbers change?
No – there will be no changes to any account number. We will be expanding our checking and savings account numbers to twelve digits instead of ten so your next check order will have two more zeros added to the beginning of the account number. You can continue to use your current supply of checks and there is no reason to change your account number on any direct debit. Your current account numbers will always be good. Increasing our account length to twelve digits makes room for a few more customers!
Will the branches be open on November 5?
Yes – we will be working over the weekend and ready to open with regular business hours on Monday. Our Saturday branches will not be open on November 3 to allow us to begin the transition on Friday evening.
Will the United Bank ATMs be working on November 2?
We actually started the ATM upgrade on October 9. We will be upgrading one ATM almost every day until November 2. As an ATM is upgraded we will lose the ability to change a PIN until after November 5. When our deposit accepting ATMs are upgraded (Atmore, Eastern Shore Center and Bay Minette) the deposit feature will not be functional until after November 5. We will be upgrading those three ATMs last to avoid any more downtime than what is necessary.
Will my existing Bill Pay information automatically transfer to the new system?
Yes – we will continue to use the same Bill Pay system as we are using today.
Will there be any new features on Online Banking or the new Mobile App?
Yes – we are very excited about the new features. We will be detailing those features via our website in a special section that will include YouTube videos on some features.
