Introduction
There are so many demands for your time, your family, your job, and your community, just to name a few. We at United Bank realize that you won’t always have time for your checkbook. Overdraft Protection makes your account worry free by doing just what the name implies.
Transfer Methods
Overdraft protection is a loan. You apply for the ODP credit line and it is attached to your checking account. If a check is written and the funds are not available funds will transfer from your ODP credit line to your checking account. You will not have an insufficient funds charge. Your overdraft protection can save you money and the embarrassment of a returned check.
- A United Bank Equity Line* can also be used for overdraft protection.
- We also have Back Up personal Accounts that can be used for this purpose but they use your own funds and not the banks.
Other Important Information and Transfer Authorization
A $35 annual fee is paid upon approval of your ODP credit line, after that the $35 fee will be automatically debited from the customer’s primary checking account on or about the anniversary date of the Overdraft Protection
Transfer Authorization Agreement. A $5.00 charge will be assessed for each automatic transfer of funds.
An automatic transfer will be initiated when a check is presented to the account exceeding the account balance. Funds will be automatically transferred in increments of $100 from the ODP credit line and will total an amount necessary to bring the checking account balance to or above $0.
A transfer will only be made when a check is presented to your account exceeding the account balance. If the credit limit is exceeded, no transfer will be made and an overdraft fee will be assessed. The item may be returned unpaid.
NOTE: Transfers from a savings account are limited by federal regulations to 6 per statement cycle.
