Job Description:

United Bank is seeking a customer-oriented individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills to join our team of business lending professionals. This individual will be responsible for aggressively soliciting and servicing prospective customers, producing a variety
of business loans as well as generating and managing a portfolio of business and corresponding relationships, while seeking new accounts through individual and team calling efforts, marketing, and referrals.

The successful candidate will be a team player who will work together with compliance, operations, and retail to build a better bank. The candidate’s approach to lending will reflect the need to be knowledgeable of the potential customer’s industry in order to make sound recommendations and decisions based on a complete understanding of the customer and the customer’s business operations.

The successful candidate will have a strong customer service and sales orientation, credit training, or equivalent experience, Bachelor’s Degree, MBA a plus, and five plus years of solid loan production experience with emphasis on business lending and production sales.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree; MBA a plus
• Five plus years of experience, loan production in business and commercial lending, loan portfolio administration, and product sales
• Relationship management skills for key commercial, small business, and personal relationships
• Highly developed analytical and underwriting expertise, credit quality focus
• Strong community leadership experience
• Sales energy, with sustained record

Mortgage Originator

• Originating permanent FHA/VA and conventional residential mortgage loans and participates in related business development activities

• Soliciting residential first mortgages through contacts with realtors, builders, and developers

• Building and retaining relationships with realtors, builders, and other referral sources

• Interviewing applicants to develop information concerning their needs, desires, and earnings to assist in determining whether the loan will be an acceptable risk

• Obtaining and analyzing pertinent financial and credit data

• Negotiating terms and conditions of loan with mortgagors

• Keeping informed of trends and developments in the local real estate, as well as the changing rules and regulations pertaining to both private and government-insured mortgages

• Calling on potential or existing customers as assigned to develop new business or retain existing business

• Making extensive external contacts (more than fifty percent of the week on sales calls outside the office) with potential and existing customers, realtors, etc.

• Generating and processing mortgage loans

• Working with internal contacts within the bank

• The incumbent works under general supervision and may have other duties and tasks as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent work experience

• Two to five years mortgage origination experience in secondary market

• General knowledge of personal computers and mortgage software and applications

• Thorough knowledge of FHA/VA regulations, conventional loan requirements and real estate law

• Proven sales ability

• Strong mathematical skills

• Excellent communications skills

• Ability to interact with individuals at all income levels and peers in a professional manner

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and to follow through on details to completion

• Willingness to spend over 50% of week on sales calls outside office

• Must have NMLS number or ability to obtain NMLS
