Responsibilities:
• Originating permanent FHA/VA and conventional residential
mortgage loans and participates in related business
development activities
• Soliciting residential first mortgages through contacts
with realtors, builders, and developers
• Building and retaining relationships with realtors,
builders, and other referral sources
• Interviewing applicants to develop information
concerning their needs, desires, and earnings to assist
in determining whether the loan will be an acceptable
risk
• Obtaining and analyzing pertinent financial and credit
data
• Negotiating terms and conditions of loan with mortgagors
• Keeping informed of trends and developments in the local
real estate, as well as the changing rules and
regulations pertaining to both private and government-
insured mortgages
• Calling on potential or existing customers as assigned
to develop new business or retain existing business
• Making extensive external contacts (more than fifty
percent of the week on sales calls outside the office)
